The Florida Council for Exceptional Children 70th annual conference was held October 23-25, 2016 in beautiful Sarasota, Florida.
CEC is an international
organization dedicated to the advancement of the education and quality of life
for children and youth with exceptionalities. Every year, the Florida chapter
of CEC hosts a conference for local educators to meet to receive training,
professional development, resources, and support to continue to improve
academic and behavioral outcomes for students with disabilities in the state of
Florida. Presentations and collaborations are provided by university faculty,
school and district personnel, and state policymakers.
Project personnel presented important considerations for supporting students with disabilities in the general education classroom in their presentation entitled, Successfully Implementing MTSS with Data-Based Individualization.
Additionally, several Project Bridges Scholars presented on their important work within their classrooms and schools.
